Knowledge, specialists and innovations for the divisions

In our technology centres we bunch intersectoral technology expertise, on which our divisions have application-orientated access. This is where innovative components are developed and on which our sector solutions build. Therefore, the technology centres are important gametes for the development of new, innovative applications.

Technology Centre Geo Solutions

PRO DV cultivates special expertise in the field of geo applications in the "Technology Centre Geo Solutions". As an expert and knowledge pool for the divisions, innovative approaches for the solutions are developed in this centre: from the possibilities of the cartographic presentation on the PDA, to the tuning of geo data, as well as the performed application of GIS basic technology, which we apply producer-independently and standard-orientated.

Components for the architecture like geo data infrastructures, catalogue services and GIS solutions for portals round off the portfolio. Our 100 percent subsidiary company GeoTask AG concentrates on these products.

Technology Centre Portals

Besides the geo expertise, PRO DV bunches special knowledge for service-orientated architectures (SOA) in the "Technology Centre Portals". SOAs develop more and more to a fundament of IT infrastructure. At this point, technology leaders like Microsoft, Oracle or SAP offer platforms, which support individually and process-orientated complex problems. Since nowadays, a task processing often requires certain partial applications from many different systems, IT standards become evermore individually. Through the modularisation of applications, achieved with the help of web services and portal components, data and functionality are offered task-specifically and context-centred, and the user conquers system limits unnoticeably. In conclusion, business processes are decoupled from the basic IT and therewith-linked processes like the release change are optimised.

Overall, future-orientated system architectures imply a considerable surplus for the client:

  • Investment protection by integrating the existing IT landscape
  • Interoperability of data, services and systems
  • Source-independent use of geo data in essential business processes
